As previously mentioned, this feature is created in response to the questions and comments about our in store wall photos. Continuing on with our weekly blog feature, we bring you a little background on the behind the scenes of the photo from the snowboarder/photographer who brought us these epic photographs.
This weeks photo is of the Chugach Mountain range, in Alaska. This Photo was taken by Sean Hoglin.
The Chugach range is one of snowboarding’s most influential areas in the world. Riders and film crews alike make the annual migration to Alaska every spring to push their limits on the worlds most demanding slopes. Riders like Jeremy Jones, the Absinthe Films crew, or those who call it home like the Think Thank Films crew, have pioneered many of the peaks in this range with first descents and massive jumps and cliff drops.
More recently big mountain charger Jeremy Jones has taken Alaskan backcountry travel to a whole new level by travelling on foot and camping in the high alpine, check out his video below.
Alaska and the Chugach Mountain range is one of snowboarding’s most iconic destinations and represents the progression of the soul of snowboarding. If you ever have an opportunity to visit this majestic area, do not pass it up!
Stay tuned for next weeks featured “story behind the photo” and feel free to come in for a visit to see the photos for yourself. See you all soon!
And again, If there is any interest in purchasing a copy of any of these photos send us an email and we will put you in touch with the photographer.
