Shop Talk: the story behind the photos, week 7

As mentioned before, this feature is created in response to the questions and comments about our in store wall photos. Continuing on with our weekly blog feature, we bring you a little background on the behind the scenes of the photo from the snowboarder/photographer who brought us these epic photographs.

This weeks photo is of Brendan Keenan doing a switch backside 540 and was shot in sled land in Golden BC by Jeff Patterson.

Picture 1

Brendan is a North Vancouver local who grew up riding at Mount Seymour and the mountains of BC. Brendan has recently been added to the Bataleon Snowboards Pro team and his snowboarding can be seen in Transworld Snowboarding and Sandbox productions videos, as well as magazines around the world.

Picture 5

This particular photo was taken on a Sandbox filming trip to Golden, Brendan had his eye on this cliff band from a previous trip out to Golden. This visit allowed him to get up on top of it with good snow fall and stable avalanche conditions. Brendan is one of the better backcountry riders on the local scene and is no stranger to this type of feature. Here, Brendan just patted down the take off and pointed it switch off the lip to set down this stylish switch backside 540 and bring us this amazing photo to enjoy.

This photo was published in the now defunct Future Snowboarding, Europe’s Pleasure Mag, and of course our Local Snowboard Canada.

Stay tuned for next weeks featured “story behind the photo” and feel free to come in for a visit to see the photos for yourself. See you all soon!

And again, If there is any interest in purchasing a copy of any of these photos send us an email and we will put you in touch with the photographer.
